FIA European Drag Racing Championship

The FIA (Federation Internationale De L'Automobile) currently endorses only selected motor sports for its World Championship programmes and the FIA European Drag Racing Championship now runs alongside the other major FIA motorsports including the Formula 1 Grand Prix World Championship.
FIA

The European Drag Racing Championship has been developed from initial negotiations between the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) and the FIA. From this, the Drag Racing Commission, with the European organisers, developed a rule book for both racing, safety and construction of race cars. By 1997 the Championship was fully established on the FIA Calendar.

The Championship boasts a full schedule of world-wide TV programmes. Santa Pod Raceway hosts the opening round and the Championship Finals and is the only UK track with international status as recognized by the Motor Sports Association (MSA). It's success has been instrumental in the development of Drag Racing in Europe. Power Racing Promotions administers the FIA European Drag Racing Championships and is directly responsible for all the European Drag Racing TV programmes. Urs Erbacher
