Flame & Thunder 2005 Report
Saturday 5th November

Flame & Thunder

The Flame & Thunder show was a fitting end to Santa Pod's packed 2005 season, featuring an enormous variety of race cars and bikes from all disciplines of Drag Racing.

The weather defied the forecasters and remained dry virtually all day, and although hats and gloves were essential items of clothing, the track stayed open for racing right up until 6pm.

The day was witness to an "off-the-trailer" run by Andy Carter at over 300mph, an unprecedented collection of jet-powered vehicles and personal bests by a large number of the assembled racers making demo runs.

The action wasn't restricted to the racetrack though- with monster trucks smashing cars and caravans on one side of the track, and incredible stunt shows from the UK Freestyle Motocross team and Driftworks on the other side of the track, there was almost too much to see in the day! On top of all this, there was the traditional 5th of November Firework display, a giant bonfire that was light by the Roaring Thunder Jet Truck and tonnes of sideshows to make this one of the best family fireworks display ever!

We hope you had a great time, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at Santa Pod Raceway in 2006. Next year's calendar is now online to help you plan for the year ahead. It's not too late to buy items from the Pod Shop, so visit The Pod Shop Online if you want to buy mail-order in time for Christmas.

Stay tuned to santapod.com for updates throughout the winter, including our season review and MORE coming soon!

Now for some apologises, there were unfortunately several road traffic accidents on roads around Santa Pod as people were leaving site and this resulted in long delays to traffic leaving Airfield Road. Due to rain the track was closed all day on Sunday so there is a full £10 rain off value on Sunday tickets and £5 rain off on weekend tickets.
