2008 Event Report & Gallery

Santa Pod’s season finale ended as the season started… cold and a bit wet! However, the somewhat inclement conditions didn’t stop a great show from taking place, with a massive variety of race machines on track, and some superb shows in the live action arena. The action on the track was a bit stop-start due to rain showers and oil downs, and the cold track was holding back the quickest vehicles, but most vehicles managed to make an appearance, and of course there was loads to see in the pits.

Off track Titan the robot had kids in rapture every time he came out and Shaun Williamson (Barry in Eastenders) made an appearance, singing a few songs from the VIP balcony during a track clean up. With lots of activities and attractions for kids and adults alike, it was a packed day, but the final curtain-call came with the heavy rain at about 5pm. The fireworks went off, and unlike the weather, they certainly didn’t disappoint. Fingers crossed for a year of hosepipe bans and icecreams in 2009. We hope you had a good day out and we look forward to seeing you back at the Pod soon.

For those that can’t get enough of the fireworks, make sure you come back on Weds 5th November for Fireworks Frenzy.
