FIA "The Main Event" 2010 Friday 28th to Monday 31st May

The Main Event is the first round of the prestigious European Drag Racing Championship, and features the largest race entry and most packed Motorsport event anywhere in Europe! Over 200 teams, and 17 race classes make this event unrivalled for both the quality and quantity of racing.

If you've not experienced top-level drag racing before this is THE event to come to and witness the unique thunder of nitro engines and smell of burnt rubber!

Alongside the international racers is a full supporting line-up of race classes for cars and bikes competing in the British championships.

Monster Trucks, Jet Cars & More

As well as the Drag Racing there's fun for all the family with a full line up of entertainment suitable for kids and adults alike - this is the ultimate family day out for the bank holiday weekend. kids under 16 go free!

Attractions include, track displays in between the racing, monster trucks in the Live Action Arena, Kids Entertainment, side shows, traders, Fun Fair and full catering & bar facilities all weekend with evening entertainment in Fuelers Bar including Live Band "Ruse" on Sunday evening.

Track Displays: The awesome Fireforce and Firestorm Jet Funny Cars.

The Live Action Arena: The car crushing Monster Trucks Podzilla and Swamp Thing will be attempting to out jump each other. The ex-world championship Motocross rider Jason Smyth, performs spectacular stunts and huge, breathtaking jumps using both Quad bikes and Motorcycles. The 2007 Stunt Riding World Champion Zoltan Angyal will bringing his wild show back to the UK. The legendary Stunt Driver Terry Grant will be pushing his fleet of cars to their limits.

In the Sky: The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be making fly pasts with a Dakota on Friday and Sunday, and a Lancaster, Hurricane & Spitfire on Monday.

Rides: 2 Seater Dragster: For the ultimate thrill ride, the 7 second Santa Pod 2 Seater Dragster will be running, with passenger rides available. Full details on the 2 Seater page. Helicopter Pleasure Rides: If you have always wanted to fly in a helicopter then you will have the chance at The Main Event with passenger rides around the raceway site available.

The FIA & UEM race classes along with the off track displays will be on Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Friday is sportsman race classes only, plus Fireforce.

• FREE access to the pits! Get up close to the racers, crew and of course the Dragsters.
• Weekend campers will be able to stay until 1pm on the Tuesday after the event.

Multiple Sclerosis Trust: Santa Pod Raceway is pleased to announce that the MS Trust (Multiple Sclerosis Trust) will now be the designated official charity for the FIA Main Event.

The charity has been involved with several individuals and race teams since 2009 when rookie drag racing fan, Karen “Kaz” Aston simply got hooked on the sport!  Kaz, a sufferer of MS for over 15 years has worked hard over the last year to build awareness of the charity within the sport and has even confirmed her own plans to compete in a drag car of her own for the 2010 season.
