FIA "The Main Event" 2008 Friday 23rd - Monday 26th May

The Main Event is the first round of the prestigious European Drag Racing Championship, and features the largest race entry and most packed Motorsport event anywhere in Europe! Over 250 teams, and 15 race classes make this event unrivalled for both the quality and quantity of racing.

If you've not experienced top-level drag racing before this is THE event to come to and experience the unique thunder of nitro engines and smell of burnt rubber!

Alongside the international racers is a full supporting line-up of race classes for cars and bikes racing in the British championships, and demonstration runs from the 270mph Jet car.

Off track, there is a full line up of entertainment suitable for kids and adults alike- this is the ultimate family day out for the bank holiday weekend. kids under 16 go free!

2 Seater Dragster: For the ultimate thrill ride, the 7 second Santa Pod 2 Seater Dragster will be running, with passenger rides available for £499 or £250 when booking hospitality. Full details on the 2 Seater page.

Monster Trucks, Jet Cars & More

As well as the Drag Racing there will also be car crushing Monster Trucks Podzilla and Red Dragon, and Stunt Displays from Terry Grant in the live action arena.

On the track will be the Fireforce and Firestorm Jet Funny Cars plus the 10-second Maksar Drag Racing Truck from Malta, and over head will be WWII Fly Pasts with a Spitfire and Hurricane on Saturday, and Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster on Monday.

There's fun for all the family with kids entertainment, side shows, traders, Fun Fair and full catering & bar facilities all weekend!

Helicopter Pleasure Rides: If you have always wanted to fly in a helicopter then you will have the chance at The Main Event with passenger rides around the raceway site available for £30.00 per child and £35.00 per adult.

VIP/Hospitality: We still have places available for VIP/Hospitality at the Main Event. From £119 + VAT per person, come along and enjoy the VIP experience including lunch. • FREE camping for multiple day ticket holders
• FREE parking for all ticket holders
• FREE access to the pits! Get up close to the racers, crew and of course the Dragsters.
• Weekend campers will be able to stay until midday on the Tuesday after the event, the bar will be open until 10pm on Monday.

*3 kids per adult. Advance ticket orders are subject to a booking fee. All tickets are non-refundable. Advanced tickets available until Friday 16th May at 5PM online and 6PM by phone. Weekend campers will be able to stay until 1pm on the Tuesday after the event.
